The latest release of the Oracle Database could be used as the triple store as it provides support for RDF (Murray 2005). Once the data has been loaded into the system it forms a directed labeled graph. Users can then query the data using Oracle’s SQL extensions for RDF, which makes it simple for a user to query for all information that relates to a particular individual or place. It also becomes possible for a user to follow a chain of links within the data. Importantly for this use case, it further enables a user to find pairs of individuals who know each other, where their combined activities may lead someone to suspect that suspicious activities were being undertaken.
