This is called inclusion. Inclusion has been defined as rejecting segregation for any reason. The words of the judge in Brown v. Board of Education had helped to set the tone for IDEA. Parents prefer inclusion because it promotes acceptance. Inclusion helps students feel like part of their school community. This acceptance in turn helps them to be more social, and many parents report that their children are happier because of it.

Another was Ann Williams. Her family had to have an armed guard at their house because she befriended Eckford. Williams’s father was the head of the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce in 1958, and he supported integration openly.
